Cyprus's defence ministry has unveiled a new online platform allowing national guard conscripts to complete their military registration digitally, marking a significant step toward modernising the country's conscription administration.

Platform Opens for 2026 Intake

The system, branded e-registration, was formally launched on Friday and is now accepting selection data declarations from conscripts due to join the national guard. The platform will remain accessible until midnight on 3 May and can be reached through the official government portal, gov.cy, under the "Military Service" section.

To gain access, users must first create and verify a citizen profile on the government portal. The ministry emphasised that conscripts who have yet to set up a verified profile should do so without delay, as the digital registration is a prerequisite for taking part in the allocation process.

What Conscripts Can Submit

Through the platform, conscripts are able to submit their selection data declaration along with any supporting documentation. The system allows applicants to indicate their preferences for placement within the national guard structure, covering a broad range of service pathways. These include:

  • Allocation to branches, arms and corps
  • Unit placement preferences
  • Selection for reserve officer candidacy
  • Roles in special forces, including commandos and military police
  • Technical and advanced technological specialties
  • Military music and other designated service categories

Support Services Available

In parallel with the digital rollout, the ministry has established a classification support centre to assist conscripts navigating the submission process. A dedicated hotline — 1430 — has been made available to conscripts, parents and guardians seeking guidance during the registration window.

The support centre operates on weekdays between 8:00am and 5:00pm, and on public holidays from 8:00am to 1:00pm.

Aim of the Initiative

Officials described the combined digital and in-person support framework as designed to ensure the orderly processing of conscription data while improving access to information for those going through the selection phase. The initiative forms part of broader efforts to streamline administrative procedures within Cyprus's military service system for the 2026 intake.

The launch of e-registration reflects a wider push by Cypriot authorities to digitise public services through the gov.cy portal, extending that approach to the traditionally paper-heavy domain of military conscription management.
